During the summer of 2014, Sean and Lindsay found out that they were expecting twin girls who were due in January 2015. They and everyone else in the family especially us grandmas and grandpas were so excited. In December, Lindsay was at a routine doctor's visit and was told that one of the girl's no longer had a heart beat, she had died, no known reason why. The girls were born about 2 weeks later on 12/21/14. Harper was delivered "stillborn" and her sister Hartley spent some time in the NICU and is now a healthy, beautiful 6 month old. The loss of baby Harper has been devastating, there are no words that can describe the pain.
As a way to remember, grieve and honor Harper and all children lost too soon, and to raise funds for research to decrease the number of stillborn babies, our family will be participating in the Star Legacy Foundation's "Let's Not Be Still" event being held September 26th in Eden Prairie, MN. The Star Legacy Foundation is a non-profit organization created to raise awareness and support research, education and prevention and family support initiatives related to pregnancy and infant loss (miscarriage, stillbirth, prematurity and neonatal death).
