As many of you know we lost our beautiful, red headed baby girl, Reese Christine Duffy on November 2nd, 2014 at 39 weeks due to a nuchal cord x2. Although this wasn't the outcome that we had dreamed of for many, many months, Reese has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. She has shown her dad and me how to be more compassionate, caring, and thoughtful people. She continues to show us patience as we navigate through the toddler years with her big brother Rogen; never taking those moments for granted. She has strengthened our relationships with friends and family as they grieve the loss of our little girl as well. But I think the biggest lesson she has taught us is that sometimes grief can be productive. As her mom and dad we have made a promise to Reese to parent her by helping others navigate the world of child loss, by being proactive, advocating for change, and always sharing her story with others.
This year we will be participating in the "Let's Not be Still! 5k" in honor of Reese and all the other babies lost to still birth or miscarriage, hosted by the Star Legacy Foundation. We would be honored if you joined our team and participate in any way you feel comfortable (running, walking, donating, or remembering).
